Pedraza (22-1, 12 KO) will be facing Mexico’s Jose Luis Rodriguez (23-11, 13 KO), a former victim of Verdejo with recent losses to Mario Barrios and Sharif Bogere. It will be Pedraza’s first fight in 14 months.
Verdejo (23-0, 15 KO), kaing his first appearance since February of 2017, takes on Antonio Lozado Jr. (38-2, 32 KO), who has a pretty record and little else.
Verdejo-Pedraza is certainly a quality fight, especially since Verdejo’s injury-induced inactivity cost him his mandatory challenger spot. Knowing his luck, though, I’m guessing Verdejo breaks his hand against Pedraza and we go through this whole thing again next year.
