Josh Emmett vs. Mirsad Bektic among official additions to UFC Sacramento

On Wednesday, the UFC made several bouts official for its upcoming visit to Sacramento.

Per a release, featherweights Josh Emmett (14-2) and Mirsad Bektic (13-1) will fight on the July 13 card at Golden 1 Center. The matchup was first reported by FloCombat.

Other bouts announced Wednesday include Andre Fili (19-6) vs. Sheymon Moraes (11-3), Gian Villante (17-11) vs. Mike Rodriguez (10-3), and Pingyuan Liu (15-4) vs. Jonathan Martinez (10-2).

Emmett has won three of his last four fights, most recently defeating Michael Johnson with a one-punch KO late in the third round of their meeting at UFC on ESPN 2 in March. His opponent Bektic has won six of seven fights since joining the UFC back in April 2014, including a recent split nod over one-time title challenger Ricardo Lamas.

Fili vs. Moraes (first reported by Combate) sees the 25-fight veteran Fili taking on a former World Series of Fighting bantamweight title contender. They will meet at 145 pounds. Fili has won three of his last four, while Moraes is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Sodiq Yusuff in March.

Villante competes in the UFC for the 16th time and he’ll be looking to improve upon his 7-8 Octagon mark against Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series contract winner Mike Rodriguez, who most recently defeated Adam Milstead by first-round TKO at UFC on FOX 31. The light heavyweight matchup was first reported by Farah Hannoun.

An injury forced China’s Liu out of a high profile bout with Ray Borg at UFC on ESPN 2, and he’ll be looking for his first win of 2019 when he takes on the 25-year-old Martinez in a bantamweight bout.

The UFC Sacramento main card will be headlined by a bantamweight bout between Germaine de Randamie (8-3) and Aspen Ladd (8-0), and air live on the ESPN+ streaming service on July 13.
