Josh Taylor vs Miguel Vazquez set for November 11

Josh Taylor will meet a former world titleholder in his next outing.

Scottish junior welterweight prospect Josh Taylor will return to action on November 11 in Edinburgh, when he faces former lightweight titleholder Miguel Vazquez in a 12-round main event at Royal Highland Centre, televised by Channel 5 in the United Kingdom.

Taylor (10-0, 9 KO) is the reigning Commonwealth and WBC Silver champion, and is coming off of a very impressive performance on July 8, when he stopped fellow prospect Ohara Davies in the seventh round.

The 26-year-old “Tartan Tornado” is on track to be a serious world contender, and Vazquez (39-5, 15 KO) should be able to test him from a tactical standpoint, as he’s a very crafty, intelligent boxer.

Vazquez, 30, has won four straight since 2016, against mediocre opposition. He lost two of three fights in 2014-15, dropping bouts to Mickey Bey and Argenis Mendez, both controversial. He held the IBF lightweight title from 2010 until 2014, making six successful defenses.
