The World Boxing Association (WBA) published the monthly rankings for the first time since March. Joshua Franco won the Boxer of the Month award since he won the first world title bout after the pause caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Franco won the super flyweight title of the pioneering organization after defeating the champion, Andrew Moloney, and taking the title from him.
The native from San Antonio was not the favorite on paper, but he knew how to fight intelligently and make Moloney get tired little by little.
In round ten, he knocked down his opponent to win the decision and become the new king.
The rankings of June can be found in the relevant section of the official WBA website.
