JULIO CÉSAR CHÁVEZ JR. RETURNS TO THE RING TO FACE GERMAN DOMINIK BRITSCH

The 30 year-old last fought in May 2015 when defeating Marco Reyes via unanimous decision for win number 49 of the Mexican son-of-a-legend’s career.

Junior now links back up with Zanfer Promotions, with who he managed to win the WBC middleweight title in 2011 and reigned for three defenses beating Peter Manfredo, Marco Rubio and Irishman Andy Lee.

Chavez was dethroned by the great Sergio Martinez despite almost knocking the Argentine out in the final round and then lost shockingly to Andrzej Fonfara following two wins over Bryan Vera.

The comeback fight will take place at the Monterrey Arena as Chavez aims for his 50th win and to move a step closer to regaining the world championship at a second weight class.

Opponent Britsch, 29, has won 32 of 35 bouts and has triumphed in his last four outings. The former EU title holder has agreed to a catchweight of 169 pounds for the contest.
