DAVAO CITY — Promoter-manager Roel Quintin Kaamino is planning to file charges against the Ghana promoter and match maker for cancelling the fight and charging them of the moral damages.
Kaamino is filing charges against the promoter Michael Annan of Don’s Promotion and the match maker Solomon Otto of damages worth $2,000 US dollars.
“With all of this, because of this breached of contract and replacement of my boxer without any notice from the promoter, I will demand from the Don’s Promotion the amount of two thousand ($2,000) American Dollar as refund and damages,” said Kaamino.
Boxer Eugene “Rambo” Lagos (16W-5L-3D, 11KO) and two other persons (including Kaamino) had spent on their travel from Valencia City in Bukidnon going to Cagayan de Oro City and then to Manila.
They had to travel from Laguindingan Airport from CDO to the Metro Manila. They arrived in Manila on Aug. 7 after confirming of their fight. They were only disappointed to learn that Lagos was already replaced by another boxer on Aug. 8.
“Pinahintay kami sa wala pala,” said Kaamino.
The wife of Kaamino had to borrow money in order for them to go back home to CDO disappointed.
“We did not accept any fight schedule because we had signed a bout contract with the promoter and there was no income earned” added Kaamino.
“Six meals from three persons during our travel, one night stay in hotel at Metro Manila, one month hard training of my boxer, his vitamins and other supplement and medical requirements required by the Games and Amusement Board”, he said.
Kaamino also send a copy of the letter to the Games and Amusements Board.
