The UFC’s flyweights are coming to China.
Officials announced Tuesday that a bout between Kai Kara-France (19-7, 1 NC) and Mark De La Rosa (11-2) will take place at UFC Shenzhen on Aug. 31 at Shenzhen Universade Sports Centre Arena. The matchup was first reported by MMA Junkie.
France, who fights out of Auckland, New Zealand, is 2-0 in the UFC so far competing in the 125-pound division. His most recent outing in February saw him defeat Raulian Paiva by split decision.
Returning to the flyweight division, De La Rosa went 1-1 as a bantamweight in his last two appearances. He is 2-2 in the UFC overall with wins over Joby Sanchez and Elias Garcia.
UFC Shenzhen will be headlined by a strawweight title bout between champion Jessica Andradeand challenger Weili Zhang. The main card will air live on the ESPN+ streaming service.
