Japanese promoter Koki Kameda, head of Osaka’s Kameda Promotions (KWORLD3), together with his rising-star fighter Mitsuro Brandon Tajima 但馬ブランドン ミツロ (10-0, 8 KO’s) attended today the WBC Convention currently unfolding at the Hilton Hotel in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan.
That’s because Kameda – a former 3-division world champion – and his hard-hitting boxer Mitsuro Brandon Tajima want to wage thrilling battles in the WBC Bridgerweight division, which is boxing newest weight-class for fighters weighing between 91 kg (200 pounds) and 102 kilos (224 pounds).
That is the division that the 5′ 11″ Brandon, and his promoter Koki Kameda feel is suitable, although for that, the bearded warrior born in Hekinan, Aichi, will have to shed some pounds, although not that many.
During the last year, Brandon fought in between 252 lbs and 281 pounds. To compete as a Bridger fighter, he will have to come down to 224, a weight very likely he will be able to make.
His best effort will be done for sure.
The two men believe that Brandon can rumble and succeed as a Bridgerweight fighter, the division where the reigning WBC world champion is undefeated Lukasz Rozanski (15-0, 14 KO’s) of Poland, a 37-year-old dangerous man with total dynamite power in his blows.
The super active Brandon, 29, who in this year 2023 battled and won 7 fights, wants to press his career forward, well into 2024, aiming at a world-rank, and then an eventual world title shot.
In his last fight last month, Brandon stopped veteran Venezuelan Williams Ocando in one round, and prior to that knocked out in eight chapters strong and brave Thai warrior Aekkaphob Auraiwan.
How far will the friendly and bilingual Brandon reach as a bridgerweight in the WBC?
The talented, fast and powerful Japanese, who speaks perfect Spanish, is putting his heart and his mind in making waves in 2024 and beyond, with the green and golden WBC world title belt being his ultimate goal.
