Japanese warrior women Kanako Taniyama of Tokyo scored a unanimous decision win over more experienced Thai lady fighter Phannaluk Kongsang, 24, in their bantamweight non-title six-rounder battle today Friday, March 22 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
The more aggressive Taniyama 谷山佳菜子 (2-0, 1 KO) dictated the tempo over the slightly taller Kongsang (5-8-1, 2 KO’s), a woman who has reigned as WBC Female Asian champion.
Official scores were 59-56 and
60-54 (twice) all in favor of the 32-year-old Kanako Taniyama who made
her pro debut last December.
