Undisputed lightweight champion from Ireland Katie Taylor will defend her world title, Jennifer Han, from the USA, at the Emerald Headingley Stadium in Leeds, UK, on Saturday, September 4.

Taylor will put her unbeaten professional record of 18 wins to the test against the former American amateur champion. Han, a former featherweight world champion, has 18 wins, three losses, and a draw. She is coming up in weight to challenge Taylor.

This Thursday, both warriors were face to face in a press conference prior to the attractive fight they will hold.

Katie Taylor commented: “I’m very excited to fight in Leeds and in front of so many fans. It’s like a second home to me so I just can’t wait. It’s going to be very exciting to fight in front of 20,000 people.

“I’m going to do my best to hold on to each of those belts for as long as I can. That’s what I’m in the sport for. I’m looking forward to the toughest fight from Jennifer. She has a lot of amateur experience and she’s a very technical fighter. I think it will be a tough fight and I’m totally prepared.”

Jennifer Han commented: “This is huge. It`s the biggest fight of my life and you cannot get bigger than Katie Taylor. I am going to fight for all her belts. This is the greatest opportunity that God has blessed me with. I have worked. all my life for this moment and I’m ready.

“I aim to become a world champion in two divisions. I am absolutely sure I can defeat her. Believe me, my camp and I have studied her inside and out. We have a lot of strategies.”
