Former World Boxing Council minimum champion, Japan’s Kazuto Ioka, (22-1, 13KO), 28, has announced his retirement from boxing.
“I’m satisfied with myself, earning titles in three different categories. I’m here because of the support of my fans. I want to thank you for supporting me in my career.”
In 2012, in the third defense of his minimum WBC title, Ioka captured the WBA belt, defeating Akira Yaegashi. In 2014 he failed to capture the IBF title in the only loss of his career, but in 2015 he captured the WBA title.
His father and coach, Kazunori Ioka, suggested retirement after he observed a lack of motivation. He`s also recently married the famous Japanese singer Nana Tanimura.
The World Boxing Council wishes Kazuto a great success in his married life and in his future plans.
