By Danny Esch: Breaking News: Getty of team Thurman has chosen to stop the release of any pictures or videos of Keith Thurman in training with no clear explanation. In the past week news broke that one of the best American Welterweight Champions Keith “One Time” Thurman was finally back in training at St. Pete Boxing Club after a long layoff which pleased many fans.
The way boxing fans learned of Thurman’s return was a group of Instagram pics that where released showing the athlete in training on a day to day basis, released by team Thurman. The pictures in question showed Thurman throwing uppercuts and training other stable mates along the way. As time went on actual videos began to surface also showing Thurman engaged in mitt work landing hard shots with pointed accuracy.
As the news spread of Thurman’s training multiple media outlets online began making video after video of “One Times” return to the gym which further increased the attention. In my opinion all news in this boxing game is good news and comments on social media will always be negative and positive no matter how it is presented which is just the normal nature of the social media beast. I would furthermore like to add that Thurman fans especially deserved to see their Champion back to work after this long layoff and the constant push backs of each of Thurman’s fights in 2018 not to mention the previous years of fan support before the layoff.
The fans are the ones who support all these fighters by attending shows and watching these shows on television which add to views. I will be honest and say I was one boxing fan who was in fact excited to see the new pics and videos but now I am disappointed to come to the knowledge that they have all been removed. I can still say I am pleased to know “One Time” seems to be back and training again but I hope his team realizes that the fans also play a major role in the success of all these athletes and it was a pleasure to see “One Time” back at work.
