Kell Brook tells Spence to sign VADA testing form

Boxingnews24.com

By Scott Gilfoid: IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook posted a form on his social media site on Monday showing that he had signed for VADA testing for his title defense against mandatory challenger Errol Spence Jr. Brook then told Spence to sign the form so the two of them could move forward for their fight.

Spence obviously is going to do whatever he has to for him to get the fight against Brook. It’s just odd that Brook would make a big deal about him signing for the VADA, and then making a post telling Spence to sign.

“Glad to have VADA testing alongside UK Anti-doping for my next fight [with] Errol Spence Jr. Sign the forms. Let’s get started,” said Brook on his Twitter.

As long as the VADA testing is part of the contract for the Brook-Spence fight, then I could see this as a mere formality for Spence to sign the form to have the testing done. The stuff has to be in the contract.

“Special K Brook @Vada_Testing @ukantidoping @ErrolSpenceJr all contracts signed.” said Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn today. “@SpecialKBrook @Vada_Testing @ukantidoping @ErrolSpenceJr now VADA forms going in.”

So there it is. Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn is saying that the contracts have been signed and are now going in. There should be no issues moving forward. Brook doesn’t need to bellyache about the VADA testing forms any longer now that Hearn has confirmed that the forms have been signed.

What Brook needs to be worried about is getting Hearn to pick a specific date and venue for the Spence fight. That still hasn’t’ yet been determined. There are reportedly two dates they’re looking at for the Brook-Spence fight and they are as follows: May 27 and June 3. It sure would be nice if they picked one so that the fight has actual date.

Even the venue still hasn’t been decided. Brook and Hearn have been talking about wanting it to be staged at the Bramall Lane in Sheffield, UK, but it still hasn’t been confirmed. It’s nice that Brook will have the fight in his country, but if Hearn can’t come up with a date and a venue for the fight, then maybe they should let Spence’s management take control over the promotions of the fight. I think they would have a venue and a date picked out for the fight by now. I’m just saying. Hearn and Brook are really dragging their feet on this. The boxing fans should already know when and where the Brook vs. Spence fight is taking place. The way it looks now, it appears disorganized as heck. How about coming up with a date and venue, Brook.
