Kevin Gronlund Training for His October 31 Fight in Rangsit, Thailand

By Carlos Costa

Thai 135-pounder boxer Kevin Gronlund keeps on training for his coming battle for Boxing’s Thailand National Title in October.

The unbeaten Kevin breaths boxing and can’t be more serious and committed about the sport.

He did well in his last battle at the WP boxing show in July. In that rumble, he battled to a unanimous decision win over the very tough and much bigger Khashaiar Ghassemi of Iran.

That’s why Kevin (3-0, 1 KO) had to change the game plan in the middle of the fight.

It was scary for his dad and fans for a while. But Kevin’s head-coach Jay R Lion, 39, proved to be effective in tactics and managed to help Kevin pull in a rewarding win by points.

The 24-year-old Kevin is now sweating in fight camp again.

If everything goes according to his team’s plan, he will fight an 8-rounder for the Lightweight National Championship of Thailand on October 31 at Rangsit Stadium.

That will be Kevin’s first 8-rounder as well as his first lightweight (61.2kg, 135 lbs) bout.

I talked with fighter Kevin Gronlund and his father Rha some months ago during one of Kevin’s battle in Thailand. They are not only passionate about boxing and true professionals but also real gentlemen.

That’s why we wish the best in his boxing career to fighter Kevin Gronlund, to his trainer Jay R, and to dad/manager Rha Gronlund.

Buena Suerte, Good luck.!!
