The UFC lightweight champion is a fan of the flyweight division. Shortly after Henry Cejudo’s 32-second victory over TJ Dillashaw at UFC Brooklyn, Khabib Nurmagomedov took to Twitter to sing his praises to the 125 pounds title holder after his first successful defense.

In a couple of tweets, Nurmagomedov not only congratulated Cejudo’s win, but also asked UFC president, Dana White, not to end the flyweight division.

“Olympic athletes is a different level of people. Congratulations, Henry Cejudo.” Khabib wrote. “Save flyweight. Dana White, don’t be bullshit, these guys have a family who needs money.”

During a press conference for UFC Brooklyn, Dana White stated that he would wait and see what happened at the event before pulling the trigger on the decision of keeping or dissolving the smallest of the company’s male divisions.

Most recently, Khabib Nurmagomedov defended his lightweight belt for the first time with a fourth-round submission win over former champion Conor McGregor at UF 229, in October 2018.
