INTERNATIONAL Boxing Federation Asia super lightweight champion Apinun “Sakkreerin” Khongsong of Thailand and challenger Sonny “Pinoy Hearns” Katiandagho of the Philippines both tipped the scales today at 140 lbs. for their much awaited title fight tomorrow at Changmai, Thailand.
Khongsong, 22, is still undefeated with 13 wins and 10 knockouts while the 26-year Katiandagho has 12 wins with three loses and seven knockouts.
The 5-foot-10 Khongsong beat Adam Diu Abdulhamid of the Philippines by a unanimous decision last Aug. 23 to win the vacant IBF Asia crown.
He recently TKO’d in the 5th round Ray Rahardjo to retain the IBF Pan Pacific title last Nov. 21.
Katiandagho, on the other hand, a former World Boxing Council Eurasia Pacific Boxing welterweight champion lost to Baishanbo Nasiyiwula in a WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental and vacant World Boxing Association Asia super lightweight title fight held last July 27 in Qingdao.
He won against Junar Adante via a 4th round TKO last Feb. 10 in the Philippine Boxing Federation super lightweight title.
Katiandagho, who is under international boxing promoter Brico Santig also fought but lost Darragh Foley for the WBA Oceania super lightweight championship at 6th round TKO last April 8, 2017.
“I promised to do all I can to win,” said Katiandagho.
