Kid Galahad, Toka Kahn Clary scheduled for IBF purse bid

A featherweight world title eliminator between Kid Galahad and Toka Kahn Clary looks headed to purse bid, as the two sides have been unable to reach a deal.

The IBF has scheduled the bid for July 31. If the fight happens, which is of course up in the air at this moment, the winner would be in line for a shot at Josh Warrington, the current champion.

Galahad (24-0, 15 KO) is a 28-year-old contender from Sheffield, England, looking to get his first world title shot, as is the 26-year-old Clary (25-1, 17 KO), a Liberian fighter now based in Rhode Island.

Galahad was on the rise as a prospect before a doping ban in 2015. He returned to action in April 2016, and has gone 6-0 since coming back. Most recently, he beat Irving Berry by third round TKO on March 3 in Sheffield.

Clary was considered a strong prospect before a shocking KO-1 loss to Jhon Gemino in September 2016, but to his credit he has bounced back nicely from that defeat, winning his last six fights. He just fought on June 2 in Atlantic City, beating Emmanuel Dominguez by 10-round decision.
