“King of Boxing” Coronation

At the 50th annual Convention of the World Boxing Council in 2012, in Cancun, graced by more than a thousand attendees, Muhammad Ali, was recognized as the “King of Boxing,”  receiving from the hands of WBC Life President José Sulaimán, a crown, and a robe, celebrating his extraordinary life of achievement.

Muhammad Ali was accompanied on the main stage by Julio César Chávez, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, Sergio “Maravilla” Martínez, Vitali Klitschko, as well as authorities and members of the WBC governing board.

In that emotional And forever memorable ceremony, Don José Sulaimán mentioned that Muhammad Ali was the great hero of all time. And the recognition as King of Boxing was an act of utmost devotion as he was not only The Greatest but also a fearless Champion against racism.
