“Ko-Chulito” Battles to combat the reign of rain

By WBCboxing.com

Since last Wednesday, the rain has torrentially lashed northern Mexico, which has prompted the National Government to declare the state of disaster in Sinaloa and Sonora.

Thousands of people have been evacuated from the floods, many of them have lost their homes and heritage.

Despite the bleak waterlogged landscape, many people have taken the streets to support former WBC world bantamweight champion, Fernando “Ko-Chulito” who has been tirelessly supporting his community.

“The truth is that I do not want to talk much about this. Right now I managed to answer you, but I have not been answering calls. I am now with a group of people giving out the help that has been coming to the gym,” commented the former champion.

“The situation here is critical. So many people have lost their homes. It makes me feel sad to see people outside in the streets, without their houses. I really cannot imagine how they feel now and  that’s why we’re here helping,”. said the popular former pugilist.

The fighter also urged all of Mexico to continue supporting the northern states, as unity is essential to help those who are most in need.
