Smiling yet formidable World Boxing Council flyweight champion and KO king Daigo Higa, efficiently and ruthlessly defended his crown for the first time with a TKO in the seventh round over lanky and brave French challenger Thomas Masson, in one of the stellar bouts of a card that held at the Kokugikan Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
Master blaster Higa, won last May, blowing away Juan “Churritos” Hernandez. This Sunday victory with a “Sunday Punch,” improves Higa`s extraordinary record to 14-0, with 14 KOs, against a laborious challenger, who fell to 17-4-1 with 5 KOs. The end of the fight came at 1:10 minutes of the seventh round, when Masson decided to withdraw from combat, suffering from a damaged eye socket.
