REIGNING Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) super welterweight champion Niwat Kongkan of Thailand will be defending his title against the undefeated Japanese challenger Takeshi Inoue on November 10 at the Korakuen Hall in Japan.
It will be Kongkan’s second title defense of the crown he took away from another Japanese Yutaka Oishi via a 12th round technical knockout last April 22 at the EDION Arena in Osaka.
Kongkan (9W-3L-0D, 7 KOs) also known as Ratchasi Sithsaithong retained his title by stopping Jumbo Oda Nobunada Shoten Petagine by a technical knockout in the 11th round last July 30 at the Sumiyoshi Ward Center in Osaka.
Kongkan and Inoue will also be fighting for the vacant WBO Asia Pacific super welterweight title.
Inoue (11W-0L-1D, 6 KOs) previously stopped Riku Nagahama by an 8th round TKO to retain his Japanese super welterweight title last August 10 at the Korakuen Hall.
Inoue won the vacant Japanese title via a7th round TKO win over Koshinmaru Saito last April 25 at the same venue.
