Salahdine Parnasse claimed the KSW interim featherweight championship with second-round TKO win over Roman Szymanski in the main event of KSW 48 in Lublin, Poland on Saturday.

Although the French fighter expressed doubt that he would get a finish in an interview with MMA Fighting ahead of the fight, it was clear the 21-year-old was putting a lot more behind his punches from the first bell.

After a stand-up clinic in the first round, Parnasse poured on punches from top position in the second. At one point, he appealed to the referee to stop the contest after a plethora of unanswered blows. When the referee didn’t get involved, he cranked up the volume, landing powerful shots that prompted the stoppage.

Parnasse now boasts an undefeated record of 13-0-1, and a 4-0 tally with KSW. The prospect of Parnasse and champion Mateusz Gamrot facing off for the undisputed crown is sure to be a huge fight for the Polish promotion in the future.

In the co-main event, Lukasz Jurkowski claimed revenge for his loss to Stjepan Bekavac in the same manner the Croatian took victory 14 years ago, with an injury to Bekavac’s knee ending the contest in the first round. Bekavac’s knee seemed to pop, forcing him to the canvas. The Polish fan favorite landed a leaping grounded blow before the referee stepped in to stop the action to the delight of the partisan crowd.

A lot of people believed Gracjan Szadzinski was one win away from a title shot ahead of his meeting with Marian Ziolkowski, but a devastating and dominant showing saw “Golden Boy” completely stupefy the knockout artist en route to a decision win. Ziolkowski shocked the Lublin gathering with two knockdowns of “Tiny Tyson” in the first and second. He also opened the prospect up with a cutting elbow that saw Szadzinski sporting a crimson mask for the last ten minutes of the lightweight bout.

Filip Pejic made a big statement in his promotional debut, dispatching Filip Wolanski with spectacular barrage of kicks to the body and head before finishing the fight with punches from mount in the second-round. With president Martin Lewandowski claiming the promotion could be headed to Croatia in the future on the event’s broadcast, Pejic’s stunning debut should put him in the running for a big fight on home soil.
