KUALA LUMPUR TO WITNESS FIRST WBC PRO BOXING IN 42 YEARS

Kuala Lumpur, MY. (July 3, 2017) – WBC Malaysia (World Boxing Council) will be bringing professional boxing back to the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 42 years this coming 9th July 2017 at the Health, Beauty and Fitness Expo that is happening in Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (MVEC).
Boxranx’s “Boxingfest” is KL’s first WBC Professional Boxing event held since Muhammad Ali’s WBC & WBA Heavyweight Championship bout against Joe Bugner on June 30th, 1975, thus making this the first WBC Professional Boxing event in Kuala Lumpur in 42 years.
The Championship Battle for the WBC-OPBF Featherweight Silver Title
The event will witness 10 matches of boxing match with professional boxers from Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, USA and India. The main event will see a Championship Bout between Pinoy boxer Carlo Magali (21 Wins, 9 Losses, 10 Wins via KO) and Indian national Sandeep Balhara (4 Wins, 0 Losses, 3 KO) battle for the vacant WBC-OBPF Featherweight Silver Title. Balhara’s win streak and last 3 fights ending via KO & TKO propelled him to the position of a title contender against a much more experienced Magali.
National Pride of Malaysia
Malaysian pro boxerHui Keng Fai (2 Wins, 0 Losses, 2 KOs) who is a current boxing champion in Singapore as well as an amateur MMA champion in MIMMA, will be fighting Professional Boxing for the first time in his home of Kuala Lumpur and in WBC. He will be facing professional MMA veteran and Pro Boxing debutant Sam Chan. The land of Borneo has two very proud and promising boxers in Malaysian Golden Gloves Champion, Stephen Onn AnakJenggiengof Sarawak (2 Wins, 1 Loss, 1 KO) as well as SabahanEddey “The Clown” Kalai, who is a SEA Games & SUKMA Gold Medalist making his professional boxing debut, are some of the other highlights in the Fight Card.
TheenaThayalan, one of the youngest debutant on the card is one to watch. At only 19, he has recorded over 95 amateur fights and was also SUKMA Gold Medalist in 2016 making him one of the youngest SUKMA Boxing Gold Medalist in history. This July 9th, he will be putting his amateur career behind and making the step up into the world of professional boxing.
A former UFC Fighter from the USA will also be on the card. Dubbed “The most hardworking fighter in Asia”, Will Chope has fought more often than most MMA fighters in the region and will be having his 2nd professional boxing bout in BoxRanx “Boxingfest”.
The WBC Malaysia’s BoxRanx first event will be held at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (MVEC) on the 9th July 2017, there will also be a semi-pro event on the 8th July 2017 featuring 10-bouts of up and coming boxers to discover more talents in Malaysian boxing.
