Lightweight Juan Pablo “Lagarto” Sánchez (30-12, 14 KOs) of Tabasco, Mexico, faces local hero Antonio “Toño” Morán (19-1, 13 KOs) this Friday at the Auditorio Blackberry in Mexico City. The Boxeo Telemundo Ford main event is scheduled for 10 rounds and will be for the WBC Latino lightweight title. It’s a huge opportunity for the veteran Sánchez, one he plans to take full advantage of.

What emotions are you feeling for your network debut on Telemundo?

I feel very motivated. I’m also very content. I’m ready to give my absolute best on Friday so that I can have my hand raised in the end.

What would a win Friday do for your career?

I could immediately be placed in the world rankings and in line for a world title fight.

How would you describe your style for those who have not seen you fight before?

I am more of a stylist in the ring but with action. I use as much of the ring as I can but also go toe-to-toe a lot.

Have you seen Morán fight before?

I have. He’s very strong. A lot of knockouts victories on his record. He’s going to be a difficult opponent to beat but I like that kind of challenge.

Do you feel the better level of competition you have fought will work in your favor for this fight?

Each fight is a new experience. I really don’t think experience means anything if you dont have more hunger than your opponent to win.

What kind of fight should fans expect for this fight in your opinion?

I can tell you that I put all my heart into my fights and leave it all in the ring. Morán not only punches hard but he takes an even better punch. This is a big opportunity for us both. This fight is going to one fight you dont want to miss.
