Southpaw Alvin “Time Bomb” Lagumbay of Bukidnon is now ready to fight Tanzania’s Cosmas Cheka for the UBO Asia Pacific title at the Jamhuri Stadium in Tanzania.
“But the date of the fight was a move earlier on Dec. 27 and not on 31,” said manager Art Monis of Hardstone Monis Boxing Gym.
Lagumbay and his trainer Tacy Macalos, former International Boxing Federation world light flyweight champion will leave on Dec. 23 but there still no ticket yet.
“Bukas pa daw padala na paaga ang laban naging Dec 27” (It is said that tomorrow the match will be sent early on Dec 27), said Monis.
The 25-year old Lagumbay (12W-5L-1D, 5KO) had good training and sparring with featherweight Juanito “El Kapitan” Paredes of Iloilo and some of the six rounders.
“Mga papers na lang inaayos,” (Papers are just being sorted)said Monis.
Lagumbay recently beat Bryan Macamay of Paranaque by a unanimous decision last Feb. 8, 2020, at the Saint Louis College in San Fernando City.
