DAVAO CITY – Former world-rated Toto “Muscovado” Landero of Negros Occidental and his coach Jun Arlos will still have a quarantine day on April 10 so the scheduled fight will have to be moved on April 14 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

“Na move laban sa April 14 naka qurantine pa kami sa hotel (Our fight was moved to April 14 for we are still quarantined at the hotel)” said Arlos.

They left Manila to fly to Indonesia on April 7 and will still need five days of quarantine.

Landero earlier wanted to have a weigh-in but the Indonesian airport COVID team doesn’t want to take a risk.

They were supposed to leave last March 26 but needed a visa due to a pandemic situation. They were supposed to fly to Indonesia to fight Tibo “Ilduce” Monabesa (20W-1L-2D, 8KOs) of Indonesia on April 10 for the vacant World Boxing Council International Lightweight title at the Balai Sarbini Convention Hall in Jakarta.

“Grabe na tong laban grabing hirap naming taon na mahigpit di matuloy tuloy (This is a very difficult year for us that will not be able to continue)” said Arlos.

Indonesian Armin Tan tried to negotiate with the head of the Indonesian COVID team to allow Landero to go out to take a weigh-in and fight.

“But he doesn’t want to take risk his job, he even though I bring some letter to supporting,” said Tan.

“COVID make us extremely suffered,” said Tan.
