LEAP OF FAITH FOR JESSICA GONZALEZ

A tall order for lofty former WBC interim female bantamweight champion Jessica Gonzalez, who’s this Friday fighting WBC super featherweight silver champion Melisa St Vil, in the Kariba Convention Center, Haiti.

Jessica, who lost a split decision against Yazmín Rivas last August in Gomez Palacio, for the  the vacant WBC international super bantamweight belt, is convinced she can climb two weight divisions higher…and go  “won” better explaining:

“This opportunity has come along so I’m going for it. I’ve been training very hard at altitude in Nevada de Toluca, and also at the Pancho Rosales gym.  I’m tall and my height will support this heavier weight category.

“Melissa lost to Jennifer Chavez. I got to know Jennifer in Chiapas during a reality show, and if Jennifer can defeat Melissa, then I know that I can too.  I’m determined to be a champion once again, and I’m sure I will win this fight.”
