Leon Edwards is definitely looking forward to crossing paths with Jorge Masvidal again.
The two welterweight contenders stole headlines at UFC London on Saturday due to a backstage confrontation that quickly went viral. Masvidal was already the talk of the show after annihilating Darren Till with a KO combination in the main event, but he really got tongues wagging afterwards when he broke off a post-event interview to throw hands with Edwards, who was also victorious that evening.

Masvidal has already given his side of the story, taking umbrage with Edwards talking about him in the past and putting some of the responsibility on Edwards for approaching him with “his hands up”. On Sunday, Edwards offered his own commentary via Instagram:
“Jorge, fair play sneaking your shots in when you could, but now you’re f-cked,” Edwards wrote. “If security wasn’t there you wouldn’t have made it back to the U.S., I’ll see you soon.”
With his seventh straight win in the UFC, Edwards appears poised for a matchup with a top-10 contender and Masvidal might just fit that bill after his impressive win against Till. Either way, it’s all but guaranteed that fans haven’t heard the final word in this feud.

It wasn’t all venom from Edwards though. He began his post by paying respects to UFC London opponent Gunnar Nelson and declaring that he plans to win a world title this year.
“Very happy with my performance last night against a very high caliber opponent in Gunnar Nelson,” Edwards wrote. “Much respect to you Gunnar that was a great fight and I look forward to seeing you bounce back. Thanks to my team, friends, family and the fans for everything. Birmingham stand up!
“As I said — that’s seven in a row in the hardest division in the sport and I’m coming for everyone. World champ 2019 mark my words. If you’re not with me now, you will be.”
