DAVAO CITY – World Boxing Association Asia super flyweight champion Adrian “Wild Beast” Lerasan of Antipolo City is still in quarantine at the Royal Rattanakosin Bangkok in Thailand.
The 22-year-old Lerasan (9W-4L-0D, 2KOs) is on a 10-day quarantine for his coming WBC Asia flyweight title fight against
Thanachai Charunphak of Thailand on June 5 at WP Boxing Live- DAZN Matchroom.
“Medyo mabuti nalang at na postpone ang laban (It was pretty good and the match was postponed)”, said Lerasan.
The fight was originally set last May 1 but was postponed due to Covid-19.
Food, however, is free every day for the quarantine patients.
“Libre naman pagkain dito (Food is free here)”, Lerasan said.
Lerasan also got some groceries from fellow Filipino and comeback boxer Joven “Ishihara” Jorda (18W-26L-4D, 15KOs), who is based already in Thailand.
Jorda visited together with his girlfriend Sachiko Ueda.
Jorda might also already be the second for Lerasan during fight night.
“Sa May 5 pa ako makaka labas sa quarantine (On May 5 I will be out of quarantine)”, said Lerasan.
He will immediately proceed to the Highland Gym Thailand of Brico Santig.
Santig, however is presently in a lockdown in Benguet. He has never come home since March 2020.
Charunphak (11W-1L-0D, 9KOs), on the other hand, has been very active last year with five bouts. He won all with four via knockouts and one by a unanimous decision.
