DAVAO CITY – Newly crowned World Boxing Association Asia super flyweight champion Adrian “Wild Beast” Lerasan of Antipolo City will now fight on Aug. 7 at the Pattaya Beach in Pattaya, Thailand.

Lerasan (9W-4L-0D,2KOs) will still challenge World Boxing Council Asian Boxing Council Flyweight champion Thananchai Charunphak (11W-1L-0D, 9 KOs) of Thailand.

“From 115lbs., lalaban po ako ng 112 lbs. pero hindi problema sa akin (From 115 lbs., I will fight 112 lbs. but not a problem to me),” said Lerasan in a Facebook.

In fact, Lerasan already got the 112 lbs. weight but it was postponed again due to the lockdown by the pandemic.

The 22-year-old Lerasan arrived in Thailand last April 17 but Lerasan’s trainer Richard Garcia was not able to join him because he was found positive of COVID.

However, Joven “Ishihara” Jorda (18W-26L-4D, 15KOs), a Filipino trainer based in Bangkok was available. He gave him a pair of boxing shoes, which were used by Jorda when he fought and won in his comeback last Dec. 19, 2020, in Thailand.

But Jorda suddenly left home for the Philippines because of the important chart last week.

Lerasan, a southpaw, is now being trained by Thai Supanat Chanram of Highland Bangkok Gym, who is the brother-in-law of promoter Brico Santig.

Chanramis also looking for a sparring partner for Lerasan.“Nag hahanap siya, sarado daw kasi mga gym (He was looking, because the gyms seemed to be closed),” said Lerasan.

Next week, somebody will visit Lerasan at the gym for sparring.

“Kaya kain kain muna, kain training lang pero hindi naman sobrapara di rin ako mahirapan sa pagkuha ng timbang (I can eat first, just eat training but it’s not too much so that I don’t have trouble gaining weight),” said Lerasan.

Lerasan has been eating a lot because it’s still far away, it’s about three weeks so he is back at 119 lbs. It is very hot right now in Thailand.

“It’s already hot in Thailand and I’m also hot”, said Lerasan, who is very eager to fight Charunphak.
