Venezuela’s WBC lightweight champion defends his crown against Brit Anthony Crolla on September 24 at the Manchester Arena in England.
For Anthony Crolla (31-4-3, 13 KOs) this will be the second match against a Venezuelan after defeating Ismael Barroso in May.
Champion Jorge “Niño de Oro” Linares (40-3, 27 KOs) has previously fought in London. That time he defeated Kevin Mitchell in a turning tide war!
“Jorge is a fantastic boxer and is another mountain I have to hike and overpass. I have defeated great boxers and I am going to defeat hm too,” Crolla pledged.
Jorge aptly replied: “This is a personal challenge, Crolla is a tough opponent and I know we will fight an exciting bout. Crolla is a tough opponent, he comes from defeating a compatriot of mine, so I am here with hunger, determination and pride to get the victory.”
