Invicta FC 25 has a new co-main event.
An injury to Jodie Esquibel has forced her to drop out of her planned strawweight bout against Brazil’s Livia Renata Souza.
Instead, Souza will face a fellow Brazilian in undefeated Janaisa Morandin.
While Esquibel vs. Souza was scheduled to fill the vacant Invicta strawweight belt, the new matchup will be a three-round, non-title fight.
The 22-year-old Morandin, who is stepping up from atomweight, brings a 9-0 record into her Invicta debut. She has six finishes, including five in her last six fights.
Souza (10-1) is a former Invicta strawweight champ.
Invicta also announced another card change for the Aug. 31 event in Lemoore, Calif. Bantamweight Amberlynn Orr (0-1) will square off with Sarah Kleczka (0-0), who substitutes for Kelly McGill.
