The Ukrainian Vasiliy Lomachenko and the British Luke Campbell will fight for the lightweight title of the World Boxing Council, on August 31.

The contest, which will be broadcast through ESPN +, will be curiously at the O2 Arena, a scene in which both warriors managed to win gold medals during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Lomachenko will arrive with a 13-1 and 10 knockout mark, while Campbell will do so with 20-2 and 16 knockouts.

“This is a fight for history because my goal is to unify all the belts in the lightweight division,” said Lomachenko. “Luke Campbell is the next challenge for me on this trip. He is an excellent fighter that I remember well from the 2012 Olympic Games. He has a difficult style, and I can’t afford to miss it, ”he said.

For his part, Campbell said: “The best against the best, this is going to be an incredible fight. I am in this sport to be the best and to become a world champion. For this I train and work so hard. Lomachenko is one of the best on the planet, so fighting with such a guy just encourages me to be the best I can be and is exactly the level I want to be at. ”
