Luis Ortiz may have already bounced back with a win in his last outing but he’s still feeling the disappointment stemming from his stoppage loss to Deontay Wilder back in March. Ortiz says that he’s since studied the tape of the Wilder fight and hopes he gets a rematch, believing it’s the best available fight out there should Wilder not face Tyson Fury next.
“I’ve seen the fight more than a dozen times and can tell you minute-by-minute, second-by-second what all of my mistakes were and where I went wrong.
”That fight is still a knife in my heart. I’m so disgusted with it and I want a rematch to show everyone what I would do differently.”
Ortiz says that on top of secluding himself more during training if he were to fight Wilder again, he would continue with his strategy to attack Wilder early which he believes he was doing successfully for the first portion of their fight.
Presumably the other thing Ortiz would like to do differently is avoid that massive Wilder right hand that put him on queer street and ultimately led to the stoppage.
But do you want to see Wilder and Ortiz go at it again? Do you think Ortiz would be able to hold it all together without getting clipped in a rematch?
