Lightweight contender Luke Campbell, has announced through his social networks his retirement from boxing at the age of 33.
Campbell retires from his 8-year professional career, with a record of 20 wins, with 16 knockouts and 4 losses, after winning a gold medal in the bantamweight division at the 2012 London Olympics.
He explained that spending more time with his family is the main reason and priority in making this decision. His most recent fight was seven months ago against Ryan Garcia at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán reiterate their admiration for Luke and wish him great success in his future ventures.
