“We witnessed a Mother celebrating Mother’s Day! we saw a warrior fighting for her children with all her heart,” said the President  of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaiman.

Eyes brimming with tears, accompanied by her young son and daughter,  Lupita Martinez, smiled  with joy, acknowledging  that after five years of struggle, hardship and sacrifice, everything has been worthwhile, as she is now the WBC super flyweight  champion.
“Now I can look my children in the face and tell them .. I succeeded, and. I did it thanks to you!”
Lupita Martinez is grateful for the support of her team, stressing that she would never have been capable of defeating  Zulina Muñoz without them.

Lupita received the brand  new WBC Female belt from  the WBC President alongside legendary Mexican superstar champion Rubén Puas Olivares.

With s record of fifteen wins, with five KO’s, and nine defeats, the film of this bout showed an outright slugfest between Lupita and Zulina Muñoz. Both fighting flat out. Both on occasion hurt and stung. Neither willing to cede an inch, but an inspired Lupita gradually and painstakingly gaining the upper hand.

Lupita thanked her promoter Pepe Gomez of Cancun Boxing for his steadfast confidence, the World Boxing Council for the opportunity, as well as Kika Chavez and Barby Juarez for some invaluable sparring sessions.

By this time, the tears  had dried and that wonderful beaming, radiant smile, which so characterizes her.  had returned, as her children cuddled up close,  in the tenderest clinch.
