Luzarito to fight Calamba for PBF bantamweight title

DAVAO CITY — Jerson “Tuko” Luzarito of Compostela Valley will fight Nicardo “The Destroyer” Calamba of Butuan for the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) bantamweight title on Aug. 15 at the Cantilan Gym in Cantilan, Surigao del Sur.The 27-year old Luzarito (8W-7L-3D, 3KO) is going for a comeback since making a two year absence in boxing from 2017 to 2018.Luzarito lost to Maguindao’s RhayRhay Guanzon in their battle for the vacant PBF bantamweight title in 2014. He was then TKO’d by undefeated Reymart Gaballo in the 2nd round in Gen. Santos City in 2016.Calamba (8W-31L-4D, 5KO), on the other hand, TKO’d Jestonie Makiputin of Davao del Sur in the 5th round last 2017 in Gen. Santos City.
