Magramo loses by KO to Nakatani

ORTHODOX Giemel “Pistolero” Magramo of the Paranaque loss by an 8th round knockout to undefeated Junto Nakatani of Japan in their vacant World Boxing Organization world flyweight title fight last Nov. 6 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

The 26-year old Magramo hurt his eye in the 1st round.

“Masakit po kasi ang mata ko na 1st round pikit na” (My eye hurts because the 1st round is already closed), said Magramo.

He thought that there might be a defect in his eyes and could not fight in the next one so he did not force it.

“Buti umabot po ako ng 8 round,” (Well I reached 8 round)said Magramo. “Pabor po talaga sa kalaban and laban, kaya di ko na pililit ang sarili ko,” (I really favor the opponent and the opponent, so I no longer force myself.) said Magramo.

Magramo was thinking about his next fight and didn’t take any chances after the next round.

Magramo suffered his 2nd defeat against 24 wins with 20 knockouts while the 22-year old Nakatani had his 16th knockout and 21 wins.

It was promoted by Akihiko Honda of Teiken Promotions and was supervised by Tsutoshi Yasukochi.

The other bouts:
Super bantamweight Juiki Tatsuyoshi settled a technical draw with Kazuhiro Imamura; super welterweight Junpei Tsujimoto TKO’d Daiki Ogura in the 2nd round; middleweight Kenji Yoshino TKO’d Taiga Ito in the 2nd round; lightweight Hiromasa Urakawa won by a technical decision in the 3rd decision Toshiki Tanaka.
