MAGNIFICENT Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo is defending his WBO International featherweight title against Japanese challenger Shota Hayashi on November 25 at the Bohol Wisdom School Gym in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
It will be Magsayo’s third title defense of the vacant title he won via a 6th round technical knockout against Chris Avalos last year in Cebu City.
The 22-year old Magsayo (17W-0L, 13 KOs) retained it by a unanimous decision win over Ramiro Robles at the StubHub Center in Carson.
In his last title-defense, Magsayo TKO’d Daniel Diaz only in the 1st round last July 8 in Cebu.
Hayashi (30W-6L-1D, 18 KOs), on the other hand, previously stopped Markquil Salvana in the 4th round last Sept. 3 at the Aioi Hall, Kanya.
However, the 29-year old Hayashi earlier lost his Japanese featherweight title by a 3rd round TKO to Kosuke Saka last April 23.
Pitted in the main supporting bout is a 10-rounder between former WBO Inter-Continental super bantamweight champion Albert “Prince” Pagara (28W-1L-0D, 19KOs) of Maasin City and Mohammed “Chico” Kambuluta (16W-3L-0D, 5 KOs) of Tanzania.
The fights are promoted by Michael Aldeguer of ALA Sports Promotions. (LITO DELOS REYES)
