Magsayo wins WBC featherweight eliminatory in stunning fashion!

Philippine contender Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo knocked out former Mexican world champion Julio “Pollito” Ceja, in the 10th round, in one of the main matches of the “Pacquiao vs. Ugás” card, Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the fight, “Pollito” Ceja went to the canvas in the first round, from a hard left hook. But he reacted splendidly, constantly pressuring Magsayo, knocking him down in the fifth with his own left hook, winning most of the rounds. When everything seemed to indicate that the Mexican was going to win the fight, suddenly, the power of Magsayo made its appearance and left its mark, to end the fight at 50 seconds of the tenth round, via a terrific right, followed with another, as Julio was on his way down.

With the victory, Magsayo improved his unbeaten record to 23-0, with 16 knockouts winning this important WBC featherweight elimination match; while “Pollito” Ceja, who suffered a fractured cheekbone, left his record at 32-5-1, 28 knockouts.
