“Maravilla” ring return in August

Former champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martínez returns to the ring on August 22 in Torrelavega, Spain, in an event led by Sergio García, who’s  European super welterweight champion.

Given the latest circumstances, it has been Martinez himself who has made the decision to include himself on the card, which has four bouts organized by Maravillabox Promotions.

“Maravilla” Martinez, 46, will climb back into a ring after more than six years of inactivity. He previously fought in June 2014, where he was defeated against Miguel Cotto at Madison Square Garden in New York, losing the WBC middleweight belt.
