Marc Diakiese will look to turn around a two-fight skid when he meets Nasrat Haqparast at UFC Hamburg on July 22.
Sources confirmed the fight to MMAFighting.com after an initial report from GNP1 last week.
“The Bonecrusher” registered the first two defeats of his professional career in his last two bouts. He lost a split decision to Drakkar Klose at the TUF 25 finale before Dan Hooker submitted him in the third round of their clash at UFC 219.
Diakiese (12-2-0) was signed by the UFC on the back of two quick knockouts during his run as BAMMA lightweight champion. He opened his UFC tenure with three wins over Lukasz Sajewski, Frankie Perez and Teemu Packalen.
Haqparast (8-2-0) was forced from his sophomore promotional outing at UFC London against Nad Narimani due to an eye condition.
The 22-year-old German prospect got his call up to the UFC when he stepped in on short notice to face Marcin Held at UFC Gdansk on ten days’ notice. Held’s unanimous decision victory marked Haqparast’s second career defeat, having claimed eight consecutive stoppage wins since a loss in his professional debut.
