Brave Combat Federation will crown its first flyweight champion in November, when undefeated Russian talent Velimurad Alkhasov meets Brazil’s Marcel Adur at Brave 18, scheduled for Nov. 18 in Isa Town, Bahrain, Brave officials told MMA Fighting.

According to Brave officials, Brave 18 will also feature other two yet-to-be-announced championship bouts.

Alkhasov (5-0, 1 no-contest) debuted in the Brave cage in August, defeating Sean Santella via decision. Adur (14-4), on the other hand, is 3-0 with three stoppages under the promotion’s banner.

Adur vs. Alkhasov was targeted since the Russian’s successful debut at Brave 14, and the announcement during Alkhasov’s post-fight interview almost caused an injury to Adur.

“I was watching the event at my mom’s house, relaxing,” Adur told MMA Fighting. “When the fight was over, and it was clear he would win, I went upstairs to use the bathroom. My sister started screaming ‘come back here, they are talking about you.’ Brother, I ran so fast I almost fell down the stairs and got hurt. I almost had a heart attack.”

Competing for the first time outside of Brazil since joining the company, Adur, who is already considering a potential move to bantamweight to go for a second belt in the future, is not impressed by Alkhasov’s undefeated record.

“He will go down,” said Adur, who won 11 of his 14 MMA wins by knockout. “Nothing he’s done impresses me. I’ve fought people that are way tougher than him, but I don’t underestimate him.

”Based on what I saw in his fight against Sean, he can’t handle my hands. He was knocked down by the American (Santella), who doesn’t even have much of knockout power. I’m not used to going the distance, so I will do everything I can to finish him earlier.”
