Another day, another USADA failure.
UFC lightweight bonus-collector Marco Polo Reyes has been flagged by the UFC’s anti-doping partner for a failed out-of-competition drug test collected on March 8.
The UFC announced the news Thursday.
Reyes, 33, last competed in January at UFC St. Louis, where he scored a scintillating 60-second knockout over Matt Frevola. The impressive finish earned him a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus, his third post-fight bonus over his five UFC appearances.
A native of Mexico, Reyes (8-4) has won four of his five Octagon fights since competing on The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 2, a run highlighted by three knockouts. Reyes’ only loss over that span is a first-round TKO setback at the hands of lightweight contender James Vick.
The UFC’s statement regarding Reyes’ failed test can be seen below.
The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Marco Reyes of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on March 8, 2018.
USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case involving Reyes. Under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair legal process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.
