Marcus Browne: I feel reborn as a fighter

Marcus Browne admits he got ahead of himself at one point, but was humbled.

Coming off of last night’s TKO-1 win over Francy Ntetu, light heavyweight prospect and rising contender Marcus Browne spoke with Fight Hub TV about the changes he’s made since his questionable 2016 win over Radivoje Kaladjzic.

“I feel reborn as a fighter, since the ‘Hot Rod’ fight. I reinvented myself. I got stronger-minded mentally,” he said. “The champion mindset. Nothing’s different, I’m just listening to my trainers.”

Browne (21-0, 16 KO) has now stopped his last three opponents, all inside of the sixth round, and is knocking on the door of a possible title shot.

The fighter also admits that he allowed himself to get something of a big head before, and that the Kaladjzic fight humbled him to some degree.

“I am who I am. I come from nothing, so everything is a plus. Right now, I’m just trying to stay focused and get to where I need to be. Because in the beginning, I started to think I was somebody, and that was the problem. That was the problem.”

We’ll see what’s next for Browne, but he’s ranked in the top 10 by all four major sanctioning bodies, has a powerful team behind him led by Al Haymon, and has been looking good in the ring.
