At the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Marcus Browne defended his unbeaten record and won a light heavyweight elimination bout by halting previously unbeaten Sean Monaghan.
The former 2012 Olympic champion and three-time Gold Glove champion easily defeated Monaghan in a match broadcast to all United States via Fox.
Marcus sent Sean to the canvas in the first round with a sinking body blow, and although he was badly winded, Sean bravely got up, to continue fighting. The end came at the forty seconds mark of round two, when Marcus’s right hook shook Sean and although he didn`t drop to the canvass, he was, swarmed, cornered and trapped on the ropes, being severely punished, so the Referee swiftly stepped in to save him.
“I want to fight the WBC champion, Adonis Stevenson. I want that belt, ” tersely declared a victorious Marcus Browne.
