Marlen Esparza crowned WBC flyweight champion

Marlen Esparza defeated Ibeth Zamora in a great fight, grasping the flyweight title of the World Boxing Council this Saturday at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas.

The judges’ scorecards scored 97-92, 95-94, and 96-94 in favor of Esparza, who even though she started visiting the canvas in the first round, recovered to convince the judges.

Marlen got up determined that this could not be the end of her and returned to the fight to show her skills, which prevailed in a tough fight.
