REIGNING Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) super featherweight champion Masayuki Ito knocked down thrice Filipino fighter Glenn Enterina to score his 11th knockout victory last Saturday night at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
The 26-year old Ito, also current WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight champion, first downed twice Enterina in the early third round before the referee finally stopped the fight after the third knockdown.
Ito now has a total of 22 wins with only one loss and one draw while Enterina, who was probably Ito’s toughest opponent yet, dropped to 11-3-1, 8 KOs.
“Ito bore it out and waiting to grasp the rhythm of his opponent. Once he was able to read Glenn’s rhythm the champion landed some really effective one-twos with a strong right to land knocking Glenn down two times,” said matchmaker Warren Elliot.
Ito previously retained his WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight title by stopping Filipino challenger Lorenzo Villanueva via a 9th round TKO last April 13 at the Korakuen Hall.
Ito also kept both his OPBF and WBO Asia Pacific titles with a unanimous decision over Takuya Watanabe last December 31.
