Japan’s National Super Welterweight champion Hironobu Matsunaga (16-1, 10 KO’s) makes the 2nd defense of his title against his mandatory challenger Yuto Shimizu (14-4-2, 5 KO’s) tomorrow Saturday, October 3, at the legendary Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

The Nippon champ Hironobu Matsunaga, 33, comes into this rumble after a 10-fight winning streak that includes victories over Sanosuke Sasaki, Je Ni Ma, Koshinmaru Saito, Nobuyuki Shindo, and Koki Koshikawa.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old challenger Yuto Shimizu reaches his 2nd shot at the national belt after beating Charles Bellamy and Nobuyuki Shindo by points last year.

Will the champ Matsunaga roughly negate Shimizu, defeating him tough on Japan’s national TV?

Or will the less-accomplished, but equally brave Shimizu raise to the occasion to rock and dethrone the heavy-handed Matsunaga?

We’ll find that out.

The interesting 154-pound battle is promoted by Yokohama Hikari Promotions, live on Nippon TV.

The first fight of the evening starts at 17:45 hours (Japan Time UTC+9)
