The first HBO boxing card of 2018 is good to go, as all four fighters featured on the televised broadcast made weight today in Inglewood, California.

In the main event, Lucas Matthysse (38-4, 35 KO) and Tewa Kiram (38-0, 28 KO) will compete for the vacant WBA “world” welterweight title. Matthysse weighed in at the limit of 147 pounds, with Kiram at 146½.

The fight is Matthysse’s third opportunity at a world title, his first as a welterweight.

The co-feature will see Jorge Linares (43-3, 27 KO) defend his WBC lightweight title against Mercito Gesta (31-1-2, 17 KO). Linares weighed in at 135, the limit for the fight, with Gesta at 134¾.

So the weigh-in has passed with no drama, and our fights are ready. The HBO Boxing After Dark doubleheader from The Forum will start at 10:30 pm ET, and BLH will be here with live, round-by-round coverage tomorrow night.
